Participation in 2018 Love the Bus Campaign Grows
Austin, Texas – In 2018, the American School Bus Council (ASBC) increased school district participation in its national Love the Bus campaign. During February, ASBC’s Facebook page posts regarding the event reached nearly 31,000 individuals.
The council announces the winners of its 2018 Facebook Love The Bus Challenge. Individuals were asked to post photos about their Love The Bus activities and garner the most likes. This year’s winners are:
- First Place:
Gina Lynn Swinehart-Wardell, Barrow County Schools, Winder, GA
- Second Place:
Julie Ferguson, LCSW-C, Lewiston Elementary School, Thurmont, MD
- Third Place:
Alvina McBride, Hoke County Schools West Hoke Elementary, Raeford, NC
Launched in 2007, Love the Bus is a month-long celebration held every February. The event is designed to highlight the important role of the yellow school bus in education. ASBC sought posts that focused on thanking school bus drivers for safely transporting more than 25 million children to and from school every day.
In addition, this year ASBC also asked operations to share creative and unique ways they #LoveTheBus. Leading into the 2019 Love the Bus Campaign, ASBC will share these ideas on its website.
